Sorry for the delay in this post. As you can see from the title of this blog, we’re running at 150% capacity right now. Jeremy has been working extra hard to get our property ready to hand off to Adair. He has gotten our well house ready to go and our power up and running. He has been diligent and faithful to make progress on our property and we will soon see the weight of this project shifted more over to Adair than on shoulders. It will a hard earned and welcome change! I am so grateful for how Jeremy has mastered this building process and stayed on top of all of the details. He has championed this season of building and I know we will be blessed by his efforts for years to come. He is simply amazing and the hardest worker I know!
Life for me looks very similar to the last time I posted. I’m rocking the book business and enjoying the rewards of my incentive period. I’ll officially be out of my incentive period on July 20th and I think I will have only missed one reward opportunity – which was the full kit refund. I got a half refund, but was short of the full one. Other than that, I’ve received so many rewards and bonuses for starting this business strong. I’m loving it! I’ll be putting in a big order of books in a few week for free! I love that I’m growing my home library and making money for our family. It’s truly a win-win. Books are the best!
MOPS has been meeting in the park through the summer twice a month. In fact, we have a park play date tonight. It’s fun because the boys love to play at the park and the parents catch up. It’s been great to have dads attending our park play dates. We have more of an emphasis on family and community now that we are meeting in the evenings when both parents are off of work (most likely). I was a part of two meetings today preparing for our big MOPS kick off this fall. Our leadership retreat is in 1.5 weeks and I’m super excited for the team that God has brought together! I can see how God is bringing all the pieces together and I am in awe as it all falls into place. God is so good. The moms in our community are going to be blessed, encouraged and supported! It’s an honor to be a part of this re-launch of a vital ministry. I’m truly humbled and I’m looking forward to this fall with an expectant heart of great things to come!
The boys are loving summer time! Lots of outside play time and water fun. Owen is chatting up a storm these days and asking a lot of “why” questions. He remains a faithful helper around the house and the property. He loves being a big boy and working alongside the men in his life. I’ve had the chance to hang out one on one with Graham a bit in the last few weeks and I’m amazed at how quiet the house is when Owen is gone. It was a little sampling of what the fall will be like with preschool. Graham plays so great by himself and loves to snuggle. He had a rough week with a double ear infection and pink eye at the end of June, but he has since recovered and his back to his normal self. His eyes swelled up so bad with the pink eye that it was painful to look at him. Poor kid!
Our 4th of July was spent around the house playing while Jeremy worked up at the property. We had dinner with my dad that night to celebrate his birthday and then we came home and did a small amount of fireworks. Owen enjoyed the parachutes that Jeremy got. Graham wasn’t too into the sparklers and Owen got a spark on his face that made the sparklers a bit dramatic for a few minutes. We had one foundation firework that Graham enjoyed watching, but Owen just wasn’t sure about it. I think he liked that it had a picture of a train on the package, more than the firework itself.
Jeremy and I celebrated our 11 year anniversary on Saturday! I had a 24 stomach bug and Jeremy was up at the property working on the well house, so it wasn’t the most romantic anniversary we’ve ever had. I didn’t mind though. Progress on the property is the best gift Jeremy can give me, so I fully supported being apart. I would have taken the boys up to the property for part of the day if I didn’t have a need to stay near the restroom and the port-a-potty at the property just wasn’t going to cut it for me! Luckily, the boys were pretty understanding that I didn’t feel well and let me rest.
I’m grateful for the help and support of my in-laws as we navigate this busy season. My father-in-law has been working alongside Jeremy and had been a huge help to the building process. My mother-in-law watched the boys so Jeremy and I could go to dinner on Saturday (I was going to spend time with my sweetie even if the food didn’t like me). She watched the boys again on Sunday so I could attend a family baby shower and Jeremy could continue to work on the well house. It is a blessing to be so supported during this crazy season. Jeremy and I keep writing everything down and going over our schedules constantly to make sure we’re on the same page and nothing falls between the cracks. We have lots of moving pieces in our life and it feels a lot like a jigsaw puzzle!
While I’m sure there are more newsy details to share, I think that’s about it for now. I’ll post some pictures below and do my best to not let my posts get too few and far between. I dearly love this blog and writing is such good therapy for me. Lately, I’ve spending my free time in Prince Edward Island re-reading the Anne of Green Gables series. I read a historical fiction book called, Maud, about Lucy Maud Montgomery and it inspired me to re-read all the Anne books. When life gets draining, I refill my cup with time with Jesus and good books! Anything by L.M. Montgomery is a good book in my opinion and I love getting spending my time in Canada with my favorite characters. Even when it’s busy, I gotta keep reading! Keeps me sane!
